Broccoli in this dish is blanched and the cream cheese is also homemade.

Broccoli is one of the most healthiest vegetable. it is a rich source of vitamin A, C, K and many more. It helps in reducing inflammation, improving blood sugar levels, promoting heart functioning.

Cream Cheese is a rich source of proteins, vit A and amino acids. And, cream cheese made at home is not at all harmful for the people with diabetes or following the diet. It has low GI.

Cheesy broccoli is one of our favorite snacks or side dish at our home. Also, it is quick and easy to make. The creamy cheese sauce is also a 5-minute recipe. And, the recipe requires minimal ingredients.
Both major ingredients for cheesy broccoli, cream cheese, and broccoli are healthy. Furthermore, they are good for people with diabetes or trying for weight loss.

Ingredients

For Cream Cheese

  • 1/2 lt. Whole fat milk
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • Pinch Salt
  • Garlic herb

For Cheesy broccoli

  • 100 gms broccoli
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper
  • Seasoning

Instructions

How to make cream cheese

  • Firstly, take whole-fat milk in a heavy-bottomed saucepan on high flame. Heat it but don't let it boil.
  • Secondly, add lemon juice and stir constantly. You can also use white vinegar.
  • Stir constantly till it curdles. It should separate completely.
  • Thirdly, sieve the mixture with the help of the strainer. Let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  • Lastly, transfer the curd mixture into the blender or the food processor. Blend it till it turns into a smooth paste.
  • Blend for another 10-20 seconds if your cream cheese is grainy.
  • Finally, add salt and seasoning of your choice or garlic herb.

How to make cheesy broccoli

  • Firstly, take water in a large saucepan and bring it to a boil. Add salt to the water.
  • Now, add broccoli florets to the boiling water. Reduce the heat to low. Blanch the broccoli florets for 3-4 minutes.
  • Take it out and run it through the cold water using a strainer. This is to stop the cooking.
  • Next, take the drained broccoli florets in a big bowl.
  • Here, we will do the marination. Marinate blanched broccoli florets with pepper, salt, seasoning, and homemade cream cheese.
  • Furthermore, preheat the oven to 220C for 10 minutes. Now, put the broccoli in the baking tray and bake it for another 15 minutes or the upper layer of cheese turns golden brown.
  • Our cheesy broccoli is ready to serve. Garnish it with pepper and seasoning and serve.

Cheesy broccoli is the best, yummy, quick, healthy, homemade, delicious and juicy snack. It si a hit at our home. Especially, my kids love this dish a lot. Also, you can add garlic powder, garlic herb, seasoning of your choice.
